In this workshop for students of all ages and levels, we use pencils, charcoal, crayon, scissors, and more to tap into our agile mind. Guided by words, phrases, poems, and prose drawn from multicultural sources, this class unfolds in a series of short prompted drawing sessions that encourage intuitive and improvisational mark making.

Wen-hao Tien, MPH, MFA is an artist and educator living in Cambridge, MA. Her studio practice is rooted in language and cross-cultural observations. She notices what many do not see, and her multi- disciplinary work, as well as her collaborative work, brings out narratives of our changing societies, and life-in-flux.

About The Foundry

The Foundry addresses the problems of financial and spacial inequities affecting artists and other makers by providing access to specialized space and equipment for hands-on creation. Offering maker spaces, multi-purpose rooms, a dance studio, art studio, performance space, and demonstration kitchen, The Foundry brings STEM and the Arts under one roof for the Cambridge community with its spaces available for reservation and public programming.
