Cambridge artists interested in being considered for a $100,000 public art commission for the Foundry must register with the Cambridge Artists Registry by September 17. More details about the process and instructions can be found here here.

The Foundry Consortium is hosting a meeting to help interested parties to learn from the Cambridge Arts about the artist selection process that will be used to determine the three finalists in late October and one final concept proposal by February 2019. Attendees will be able to offer suggestions for factors to be considered by the Art Jury as they select three finalists from the registry. The Foundry Consortium meeting details are as follows:

October 2, 2018
9:00 – 10:00 a.m
Cambridge Redevelopment Authority
255 Main Street, 8th Floor
Cambridge, MA

Guests will be required to check-in at the front desk and names must be in the security system, so attendees should RSVP to Zoe Vanderschmidt in advance at zoev@mit.edu.

The Foundry Consortium will be hosting a second meeting the evening of January 7, 2019 (time and location to be determined) to showcase the three finalists’ concept proposals and to gather input for consideration by the Selection Committee being formed and convened by Cambridge Arts.

Anyone interested in being on the Selection Committee should contact Lillian Hsu, Director of Public Art and Exhibitions for Cambridge Arts, at lhsu@cambridgema.gov
